1Introduction

Centinal Private Limited (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Centinal mobile and web application (the “Platform”), which provides property management services to individual property owners in India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Platform.

This Policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“SPDI Rules”), and applicable guidelines issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

2Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

  • Full name, email address, and mobile number
  • Government-issued identity documents (e.g., Aadhaar number, PAN) for KYC verification where applicable
  • Residential or mailing address
  • Bank account details or UPI IDs for payment processing
  • Property details including address, documents, ownership records, and photographs
  • Tenant-related information you enter as a property owner

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and operating system
  • Usage data including pages visited, features used, and session duration
  • Location data (with your explicit permission) to enable location-based services
  • Log files and crash reports for troubleshooting

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Payment gateway partners (e.g., Razorpay, PayU) for transaction verification
  • Government databases for document verification (only with your explicit consent)
  • SMS and email service providers for OTP and communication delivery

3How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account on the Platform
  • To provide property management services including rent tracking, maintenance scheduling, tenant records, and document storage
  • To process payments and maintain transaction records
  • To send transactional communications such as payment receipts, reminders, and alerts
  • To verify your identity and comply with KYC/AML obligations under applicable law
  • To improve the Platform’s features, performance, and user experience
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorised transactions
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from government or judicial authorities
  • To send promotional communications (only with your prior consent, which you may withdraw at any time)

4Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your data only in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We engage trusted third-party vendors for payment processing, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support. These vendors are contractually bound to use your data solely for the purpose of providing services to us and must maintain appropriate security standards.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government/regulatory authority, including under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and directions from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) or any other competent authority.

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity. We will notify you via email or in-app notification before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.4 Consent-Based Sharing

We will share your data with any third party only with your explicit, informed prior consent.

5Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for a longer period under applicable law (e.g., financial records under the Companies Act, 2013, or tax laws).

6Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures including SSL/TLS encryption, access controls, and regular security audits to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required under applicable law.

7Your Rights

As a user, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to Deletion: Request erasure of your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for processing at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing)

10Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such data.

11Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the SPDI Rules, the details of our Grievance Officer are as follows:

12Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated to you via email or a prominent in-app notice at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

13Governing Law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.
